Installing AtSea V7
Existing installation:
Before upgrading an existing installation of AtSea it is important to follow the instructions below:
- Make sure you have a new backup of the AtSea database
- Also make sure that you have a backup of the folder "Files" in the "SaheseData" folder.
- And finally, make a backup of the config.json file, which is normally found in the folder "C:\Program files (x86)\seahealth2015\st"
The "SaheseData" folder is usually found in C:\ProgramData\, which is a hidden folder.
In the SaheseData folder there is a folder named "Files", make a copy of this folder to a safe location.
The database is either a LocalDB or a SQL Server database.
If it is a LocalDB you can make a backup just by copying the database files to another location.
Before copying the database files, it is recommended to stop the AtSea service, it is named "Sahese Seahealth Service".
The files are found in the "SaheseData" folder and are usually named sahesedb.mdf and sahesedb.ldf.
In case of a Microsoft SQL Server database, you can use the "SQL Server Management Studio" to make a backup of the database,
the database is usually name SAHESEDB.
If the "SaheseData" is not found in "C:\ProgramData", then you can look in the config.json file.
In the file there is a property named "DataDir" which tells you where the sahesedata folder is located.
You can also find the location of the database files, and their names in the property "DBName".
Just remember, there is also a file with the same name but an .ldf extension.
In case of a Microsoft SQL Server solution, the database server name and database name can be found
in the property "ConnectionString" in the "Data"."Sahese" section of the config.json file.
When upgrading an existing installation say yes to the option "An earlier version is installed, do you want to use the configuration from this installation."
After this follow the instructions and uninstall the existing installation from the Programs / Add/Remove program in the control panel.
Then restart the machine and when the machine is up again, run the AtSea V7 installation again and answer yes to the
