Template-based risk assessments are no longer valid because the format does not offer an actual risk assessment function. Therefore it has been decided to remove them from the system. The change will take effect when you upgrade to the newest version 7.0.
How do you recognize which type of risk assessments you have onboard?
There are currently three types:
- Template-based (being phased out from version 7.0 and forward)
- Process-based (the "current" format known from versions 5 and 6)
- STOP-based (The latest format being introduced in version 7.0+)
Template-based risk assessment:
When opening and viewing the risk assessment, you will notice that it contains only text and has no risk (matrix) values and no before- and after risk levels. Under TYPE it is clearly stated as "Template":
Process-based risk assessment:
This type exists in both versions 5 and 6 and is also allowed in the new version 7.
In version 5 and 6 it can be recognized on the overview page as having checkmarks in the MAPPING and ACTION PLAN columns:
When opening and viewing it will have clear risks identified and visualized with colors indicating risk levels:
In version 7 all process-based risk assessments will have a red exclamation mark in front of it but otherwise look exactly the same when opening and viewing (as in versions 5 and 6):
PLEASE NOTE - the Process-based risk assessment is planned to be phased out by end of 2026, but for now you may continue using the format with some limitations:
- It is not possible to extend Revision Date
- It is not possible to Import/Export
